If you said ball you guessed right 2 dogs want the same play item so one wins by default and cheating, well what else do you call swallowing the item in question? Oh and the squeaker still worked post removal.

Good one... and a lesson not to use any ball that can be swallowed... especially small squeeky ones where two dogs may compete to get it.
I often use a ball on a rope to play with the dogs, but you can get hold of the rope easily.
Mine don't generally compete for the same toy. They each pick their own (or I pick one), and go and fetch that one when told... then return to me. It's down to training.
I hate them all rushing off to grab one toy as I am always worried about barging into eachother and damaging a shoulder or something... Happened once years go. Don't want it to ever happen again.
Our neighbour had a Jack Russell who was ball mad. She (the dog) (that is the Jack Russell dog) once caught a cricket ball almost straight off the bat. I have never seen a dog go so far off the ground.. She had some loose teeth for a while, and it didn't cure her of her ball addiction. Fortunately though, no harm was done, she was as mad as a box of frogs anyway.
